Summary:

The lyrics in this book were composed by a youthful Rabindranath from 1877 onwards and published severally in the literary journal Bharati under the pseudonym Bhanusingha Thakur, obviously a playful version of the poet's own name. These beautiful brajabuli songs, spun around the Radha-Krishna legend, were first published in book-form by the poet himself in 1884 in tribute to Kadambari Debi who had passed away earlier that same year.
